Melon.

I like how pieces of melon ran on the plate creating interesting composition, so I decide to draw it before consuming in front of the TV. Used Sepia ink and few Kuretake pens. It says "sharing melon" in Japanese.

Just love your work. Latest pen, Noodler flex pen. Still searching for the sepia watersoluble ink. Researing Jet Pens and Goulet pens. Wow, I gotta get back to my painting, it seems all I think about are pens and inks. Thank you for sharing your work and for introducing me to a new medium.

Your work is absolutely inspiring and beautiful! It's always a pleasure for me to visit your blog and I am always looking forward to see what you have painted. You are one of my favorite artists!

Thank you very much Joan. You do beautiful paintings, hope playing with pens and inks won't distract you from it? I feel I miss painting on nature, I use to paint in oil, would like to paint in acrylic, like I do on walls. Pens and watercolors is so much more portable and easy on the go.
About inks : I tried few different Sepias, Omas, J.Herbin, Pelican, Higgins, the latest addition Platinum Pigment ink, can't say I found absolute beauty.

I am so thankful, Ansota, for your kind words and support. Even we may not meet in a real life but having someone to share your thoughts and interests is so rewarding. :-)

Hi! I find your work amazing. I'd love to get some Kuretake art & graphic twin markers and I absolutely love your palette. Would you mind sharing the color references you use the most. I know you have #57 Olive green because I've seen it in one of your pictures but I can't figure out the rest.
Thank you so much in advance.

Hi Keeklo. Thank you very much. I love Kuretake Twins. In my drawings I use also Brushables and sometimes Clean Color too. Twins are: 57, 207, 75, 49, 303, 86, 890, 87, 55, 77, 72, 703, 16, 803. It doesn't say name of the color, only number. Good luck and please, let me know if it was helpful. I carry bunch of Kuretakes with me in big Nomadic pencil case. Often I add color to color wet or dry, so it mixes on a drawing. Or on the top of ink. I would get ochre, brownish, reddish, blue and couple of greens.

Hello again!
Thank you for answering my questions. I got a whole set of Akashiya Sai brushes from Jetpens but I want to stock up as much as possible as I'm relocating overseas in a few weeks. I found Kuretake Art & Graphic Twins at markersupply.com I don't know if that's where you get them from. DickBlick.com now carries the Clean Color Real Brushes. I think I'll leave the brushables for later on as I've spent an enormous amount of money on art supplies during the last few weeks. I feel like a hamster stocking up on food. :-)
I found a UK seller on Amazon.com who sells Kuretake Twin sets for so cheap that it seems like they made a mistake with their pricing. Anyway, I ordered 4 sets there but, unfortunately, I couldn't choose specific colors. I'll complete my palette at markersupply.com.
Thank you again for your response.

Wow, cool, Keeklo. Thank you for the link and tip on Amazon. I went crazy and bought 2 sets. (still recovering from massive Rembrandt watercolor supply).
I got my first Kuretakes on JetPens. Used wonderful Kuretake13, still with cartridges, but then will use with converter. One day Kuretake company sent me bunch of Kuretake pens and I got hooked. So I don't know Markersupply, but will research.
Clean Color is really cool because of delicate tip, like real brush, just for tiny detail or outline.
Where overseas you going, if its not a secret? (What will you draw?)

Hey!
I'm going back home to Martinique (french overseas territory in the Caribbean)for good. I've been going back and forth between there and NYC for the last 2 years and I've gotten used to having an easy access to supplies. This is all going to change now. I draw everything around me, or at least I try, but I discovered that I like sketching animals above all. I'm just learning and trying to practice everyday so I can get better.
I'm glad you could get a few sets on Amazon. I'll order a few Clean Colors on DickBlick.com to try them out.

Sounds exiting, Keeklo. Can you order by mail than? I found sometimes cheaper to order from London, than to buy in the local store. May be you can order from Kuretake in London directly? I love few places:

Clean Color is cool for after it will get dry to reuse as a brush to dip into ink or watercolor.
Martinique - sounds beautiful. :-)

Do you burn the edges of your artworks or is that painted in? Looks great :)

Thank you very much. I do burn the edges, it goes back to experiments with paper, when I was 18 and painted with my best friend who died many years ago. So it is kind of nostalgic for me.
