Latvian soup.

Friend of mine made a surprise for us : this unusual Latvian bread and fruit soup with wipped cream. Besides being delicious, it was just beautiful and so unexpected. So I wanted to stop the moment and enjoy it to the full extend. I used my new love this vintage watercolors in Arches book. Paper is amazing.

Anatomy of the knee.

Mother and a child I've met in the waiting room,  sketched with Falcon. Drawing of the knee brought sweet memories of anatomical studies in my first college, when I was 18 and so eager to learn. I got E in his class, Konyaev, he had red neck and was old, in his 40ies,  I think. He let me choose color for walls in college, I was very proud.

Little song, I got yesterday.

We no speak Americano.

Palomino pencil and Tape.

Sketches with Palomino pencil and tape measure on my table, done with this vintage watercolor "Old King Cole..no.93"

Drawn with Palomino pencil, recommended by Bob from Scotland, really the best pencil I ever had.

On the way to Grand Central. NY Subway. I was very thankful that the guy slept and I didn't have to pretend that I am not looking.

F.

Sketching on the way: from the train platform, face on a subway, my disappointment  in Apple store on 57 street, while waiting for Alex, went there with guys to play with Ipad at 1 in the morning and it was such a slow boring version of my Imac. Iphone was better, but not for my dirty fingers in paint and tiny lettering. I want computer as big as 7 feet.

Subway faces.

Subway cars shaking and jumping, so as my hand with precious Falcon. But drawing made my trips back and forth to the City much more tolerable, even so late.

Union Square.

White cupolas. Running through the day.

Subway sketches.

Late night sketches. Getting familiar with my Falcon.

Life in Moleskine, another page.

Sketched people on a Subway and at the hospital. Little bridge for Machi.
Sketched with Pieni ball pen from JetPens.

Not.

Trying sepia J.Herbin in new book, Hemp Sketch. I saw someone (on Flickr) in India doing watercolor in Hemp book with effect of a rice paper, so I had to get this book on my yesterday's trip to Manhattan. But it made in different countries, his in Malasia, so paper is not the same. May be his was Hemp Watercolor? Anyway, tried my new Falcon here. After such an intense day in Queens, anything seems like heaven. And we did amazing salad from zucchinis, my Grandmother's recipe.

Canal street.

My dream came true.
What a cool day. I showed couple of my drawings in Moleskine to a guy, I was buying my pen from, because inside,  my soul was dancing and I wanted to hug everybody. He really liked it, showed it to the other man, and than gave me a present, really nice italian black ink, which usually comes with $2000 fountain pens, Italiane Vetrerie Foresta. I felt like a kid, who skipped class and discovered the Universe. I keep it a secret.
Here I sketched people on Subway in Pieni ball pen.

I took honey from honey cream jar for my sandwich and then noticed that I made a heart. So true. We enjoyed breakfast (mine is not on the picture) and conversation.
