Subway musicians.

Changing trains got wrapped up into music for a moment. Two musicians with violins. For some reason I felt that music painted surroundings in flaming reds. I was hiding with my sketchbook behind some metal boxes, where slightly smelled like urine and music licked my shoes with orange waves like tired sea.
I used ink, Kuretake, salt, Inktense pencils, mixed media on Arches.

Those reds and oranges look amazing, Nikira. Also amazing is how you caught such a busy scene in what sounds like a short bit of time!

I just came out of our subway station and you rendered this 'underground'-feeling perfectly, Irina!!

Thank you very much, CrimsonLeaves. I did sketch and wash there, behind some metal boxes, but played with textures and added more color at home, and even eliminated some figures.

Thank you very much, Looseart! I love musicians there, they bringing a note of human connection into the dark and closed up environment. :-)
