Road trip.

Another one from the series of road  sides Upstate New York. Every turn on the road opens new picturesque landscape, just not easy to find  a spot to park. I've got more and more interested in discovering how world looks from the side of the road. Have to admit many people spend time driving, especially here, in America. This cluster of houses along the road with tall trees looks like an island of quiet life, splash of red in earthy palette, very pleasant and warm, but in a minute I will loose it, when the road turns.
I used Hahnemuhle Torchon paper here, I bought in NY Central Art supply store. So here I started my experiment with good watercolor paper to find out which one I like the most. I liked it very much, how ink laid on paper, allow me few seconds to retouch. I used ink and Kuretake brush pens.

This is the type of work you do that led me to your blog and made me stay. Truly stunning and I love the way you add extra dimension making it look like paper on paper with the raw/rough/burned edges. Really beautiful, Nikira.

Thank you very much CrimsonLeaves! I was in love with ink all my life, but started to use it only here on watercolor paper. Variety of ink is amazing here, so it is joyful journey to experiment with different inks on different papers. :-)

This is very nice Niki. You have a great touch with the ink and brush pens. I've not tried Kuretake yet. Living in Ukraine I don't get to just go out and try every new thing I hear about, but I do pick some things up when I'm in the states(which is not often). Brought a few things back last month, but only 1 suitcase these days. :(
Thanks for stopping by and commenting on my blog.

Thank you very much, Coleen! I love ink. May be you can order from Amazon? It is Japanese company, they have branch in UK and would be in US soon, I think. You are close to Europe, so you may get amazing things from there? Interesting thing about Kuretake that some of the pens behave like watercolor, but stays like ink, so you can put many transparent layers. Since you like crafting, you may love Kuretake's craft pens with metallics, textures. http://www.kuretake.co.uk/
