Moscow Metro click on the link here.
I could not resist to show this link and for myself to remember. I grew up near Metro station Mayakovskaya.
On the ceiling mosaics made from artists drawings about modern beauty of communist's life. My favorite part was huge long escalator with round balls of lamps, it was cool reach to touch it:-)

I was there last May. It was very impressive, and that was the longest and steepest escalator I have been on. However, the more interesting aspect is all the artworks within the system - they are like a gallery everywhere - corridors, train platforms etc etc. The crowd is also amazing - the carriages are literally packed like sardines.
A unique experience for me.
