Shabbat.

I have so many ideas for compositions, but limited time, that many shrivel without ever being sketched and fading in my memory. This time I decided to do a little experiment, even, thought, I am not fully prepared.
The idea of getting together, following ancient tradition, putting aside all worries and labors, freeing your mind and open it to embrace the spiritual presence in your life is very appealing to me.
It is so hard to look at yourself and your place in the world in everyday routine life.  And whatever is expected from you, do you really want it?
Anyway, I used ink and Kuretake pens on Fabriano Artistico paper.

Now Nikira, I'm just flummoxed as to your heritage! LOL I've seen Asian style writing, vibes of Russia, and now some Jewish Orthodox traditions in your work! What a rich heritage you have and I'm loving these Jewish traditional pieces.

Nice to have a seat at this table, if not in person then at least through such beautiful art :).

Thank you, CrimsonLeaves! I am a Citizen of Earth and than I am a human, woman, Jew, from Russia, living in America and devoted, with love for Asian culture, fascinated by traditions and people's beliefs and different cultures. Hope to discover more and have enough time to put it on paper. :)

Thank you very much, I Love Stories! I want to do series of drawings about Shabbat, to express my admiration for beautiful traditions. My grandmother, who raised me, was brought up the same way and lived it, but I was born in different times and different country. :)
