Glance.
I experimented with new Pentel brush in plain Moleskine. Paper is too thin to show gradation, but I still enjoyed the process. I got advice to soak water brush in white vinegar may be it will remove clogging of ink or minerals. I wanted to show shadows from the sun here.

Inna and cat.
Really frustrating, I started with ink, and planned to add pen, but water brush died on me, so I had to use watercolor on the top of ink wash. Why this water brushes suddenly getting stiff and don't allow water pass from the barrel? Very painful to part with brush. I should redo the portrait the way I planned. I have another Pentel.

Interior. Painting flowers in pearl glazes.
I wanted to paint small flowers, almost look like embroidery, but decorator demanded big and pink, heavy. I like eclectic, but here elements of decor felt like from different operas: blue on the bottom, green above the molding, like sky is below grass. Gentle round windows with silk and heavy black chandelier, rough stone chimney and mirrored night stands? Heavy blue in dome above and stupid strong yellowish moldings framing nothing. If you made a statement(frame) than you meant to say something (what is it you framing?) All elements are beautiful separately.

Lunch, playing with Kuretake 13.
Few minutes lunch in rich house (nasty owner). I always liked this heavy kitchen lamp racks. The rest of the decoration - you can die laughing: nursery colors, topsy-turvy, lime green trim work, suffocating strips of wallpaper, insane eclectic. Decorator is 75 years old. Only proves that money isn't everything, it only adds to what you have. I used Kuretake 13 brush pen and sepia ink.

On Campus.
Again, I didn't mind my daughter to take 10 min to come down to the car, because I sketched with ink this typical sunday morning on campus.

Nikita.
I never drew her. She looked like fat blue rabbit. And today, when she died suddenly, our home felt silent and empty. She was the weirdest cat, not in a good contact with people. She gave birth to Liza. Many years ago out of guilt I took her name as my internet name, Nikita was taken, so I became Nikira. Acrylic ink in Moleskine sketch.

Brighton.
I was tempted to use a fountain pen on the top for sharper details, but didn't. My old Shin-Gansai watercolor set, so dry that I had to revive it with harsh bristle brush.

Inna. My first page in WC Moleskine A4.
Shin-Gansai watercolor. I am so comfortable in bigger format, but the paper is pretty bad, every brush stroke sticks to it, so you don't have paddles like in watercolor. I should try my old french pad with better paper.
