Chinese bakery.

This small chinese bakery on Ave.U is one of my favorite places to get chinese sweets, like SeeUBee( this how it sounds in Chinese, I was told), round flat things made from raw rice flower and filled with black beens. You can get it only early in the morning, so when Inna was in school I use to go there more often after dropping her at 7 a.m. But today I was lucky to catch it early. Its always crowded  and swarming with never ending construction and construction people.  Also It is my first page in water color Molly, feels too small, even it says large.

Brooklyn street

I still cant pass car inspection for some weird reasons, so being fed up with driving and technical convos with men, I stopped somewhere not far from the shop and sketched quiet street with golden leafs. And if I'll finish cooking pumpkin kasha I can consider this day as positive.

I did it instead of work, even it was very hard for me to take it seriously because I was shaken by James Jean, I discovered online. And I ordered his book earlier today.

On the way home from work I stopped near Canal and did quick sketch of the boat Sheryll  Princess.  Main thing I wanted to try this shedding  waterbrush, I filled with diluted ink. I wanted some light tone fast and defining ink brush. Gotta find something comfortable.

I was send to pick up chinese soup, but instead I  stuck for a while doing this watercolor, because I felt I wont get the chance to draw,  dealing with all this renovating problems. So at list this day was not lost  completely.

Quiet street.

It was my morning exercise since I didn't have to go to work early. Finely I put my eyes on watercolor Molly. Used Bijou, Kolinski a bit and waterbrush. Dogs were with me, smelling with rain on the back of the car and listening to Chromeo.

It is a view from client's deck. Raining. I used Bijou Box with round plastic palette, not comfortable behind the wheel but I am glad I used the chance to draw. Getting adjusted to using water brushes with Bijou, they seems too dry on the paint. Today used flat purple one, feels better. And, thanks to Bob from Skine,  I bought Palomino pencils from Ebay, exited. He said they amazing.

Lunch in Roll-n-Roaster

This place used to be cool for burgers, round fries with cheese and orangeade, but now "Five brothers and fries" in Kingston overshadowed it. When Inna was a meat eater we liked to go there. Now I was lonely chewer, gazing out of the window and drew my leftover with new Bijou watercolors. I was mad nervous. It got dark too fast. Should I use a pen over?

My new Bijou box.

I got my tiny Bijou box from London today and Kolinsky brushes. Could not sleep, at 8 in the morning was at the post office. Carefully packed additional 4 colors I choose on sleepless nights, ceruleum, sepia, white and umber. Now I think I should of got mixing palettes, small and comfy, because its almost murderous to mess up Bijou's cover. But I may find something in Pearl or use my beloved cheap plastic round palette.

I went to pick up deposit for Baby's room and on the way back parked near Canal and sketch side of the street with boat. Two girls also got into picture.  Where all this joy from sketching? I felt helpless and lost. I shell go there again and do other boats, big ones.

I was miserable on sat night and start sketching view from the porch with pencils Stabilo Wood, which I got long time ago and never found good way to use it.  It felt weird, so I add Koi watercolor. Got dark very fast and gnats almost ate me alive.
