Concert and sketches.

Sketched on the Subway on the way to concert of Federico Aubele in Brooklyn. First was young group from Montreal, so I sketched them a little, than it became too dark.

Federico Aubele was amazing, he mixes sounds of the street with traditional Argentinian tango and longing guitar. It is especially touching for me, because I am on the 3-d book of Carlos Ruiz Zafon, and my heart is connected to Barcelona for now. Aubele from Buenos Aires and lived and created music in Barcelona, and so is Natalia Clavier, the magic voice of many of his songs.
Here is one of his songs from new Album, I bought there.

Carrousel

I could not help it swaying along with music.

A bit rough, on the way home. Came home around 1 am, what a youngster. I will draw my impression in ink, as soon as I'll gain a bit of freedom.

Blue morning.

So much blue in this photo. My mood is blue too. Does it look like water is falling a little bit? Over there, where canal is, that boats are falling too, not on the same level.
I don't draw much. And its only makes it more blue.
It was a big race in BK on Saturday, was hard to maneuver getting around by car to pick our favorite bagels.

Song I like, I have it for a long time on my Ipod, but saw it again remixed somewhere.

Apple dumplings.

We decide to order Apple dumplings, (whole apple baked into dough), which we didn't do for years, even we loved them and use to order pretty often in past, in good times, when we had house full of friends. People knew my name in the bakery, remembered me, laughed when I asked, pretty pretty please! They don't bake it if not ordered.  I came to pick up in the old place and they are not there anymore. So I found them in the new location, they said they are there for at list 3 years, if not more.
I still shared with friends, sent some to one friend's home, brought in for a sick friend, invited a new friend.  Not because I am too kind, but because it extend the pleasure. Fun.
Especially fun to draw it. I used ink and Kuretake pens. Could not find my fat white pencil for the powder, so used white pen.

Song to go with by Raphael Gualazzi, remixed.

Spread in Stillman & Birn Gamma sketchbook.

My first Gamma sketchbook by Stillman & Birn almost over, hard to part with such beautiful and reliable companion. I used it for sketching, doodling, writing memos and phone numbers, put many washes and paper sustained all my experiments.
To finish quiet evening I will repost charming DJ mix by Federico Aubele I found on Twitter. No matter what he does, for some reason it is perfectly answering my inner rhythm, with voice or just   acoustics. Love his melodies.

Schlagbaum.

Getting lost in the shadows of the trees and rocks, on the way to the lake. For some reason real simple things like rocks on the bottom of the creek, silhouette of the branches against the sky  or skipped lunch have to me emotional value, sometimes nameless, sometimes formed into words. So this one sounds to me and I wrote it in Japanese "till the end of love". And it is not from the

Leonard Cohen's

famous song, but from the feeling that love will remain till the end. And it is no point to be afraid, because it doesn't matter.
I used ink and 2 Kuretake pens.

Blue pencil.

Pencil drawing got interrupted by the guy hitting on me. So I beautified the page afterwords with this turquoise pencil made with few Kuretake pens.

Song.

Illustration to a song, I got somewhere on internet and liked to listen while driving. I got this image in my head, behind a girl is her sorrow, kinda motherly sorrow. Today I found this song on Youtube and read that the woman who sings it made words and music herself. Again I am standing alone, again I am smoking, mama...

Brighton 13. "Arkadia".

Shopping on Brighton Beach could be a crazy adventure.  I used vintage watercolor by American Crayon Sandusky Company, colors are really fun, so puritan. In Holbein sketchbook.

Helele - little happy song to go with insane and happy Brighton.

I really enjoy this music.
