Textures, who knows where it may end up.

Interesting, sort of woven texture. It could be for the focal point in the living room, combined with glazing, glass and leather.

Seems simple, but really cozy on the wall, also for main wall in the room.

Here is organic metallic texture with couple of glazes.

A little different, with grainy background.

3D Texture, pretty cool for a bar or a nice modern living room. Anything against it would look sleek and pleasant, but has to be simple, like metal, glass or leather.

This one still wet, but promising. Should be antiqued and glazed.
Really like to play with different materials, experiment and get inspired by nature.

Painting Sukkahs and a big challenge.

Painted few Sukkahs on panels for Holiday Sukkot. Here is Tomb of Mother Rahel, the Mother of Sorrows.  I spent a day for each painting, in one day I did 2 paintings, crazy long days. Panels are pretty big, walls for Sukkahs. On the top going bamboo branches, so you can see stars through the roof, while celebrating holiday.

The City of David, was pretty challenging, to build all this structures in perspective and in proportion.

Kotel was the first I did and I struggled a lot, to keep all this lines dancing on panels.

This was big and fiberglass bumpy, so paint was sliding like crazy and lines danced, pretty hard, so almost with my eyes closed I finished it.

Also on fiberglass panel. This and a previous one I did in one day. It was useful experience and big challenge. I had shawarma twice, it was not as amazing as in "Olympic Pita", our favorite shawarma and falafel place, also I ate it alone, but still it was a small  highlight of the day.

Mural in 3 days.

I had a task to complete mural in 3 days. Day 1.

In front will be furniture and on the sides bookcase and another hutch on the left.

Detail. The panoramic picture doesn't show the true color. Everyone is happy except me. I would still continue to work on it, but can't.

Very rainy but not a bad day.

Today, April 30 , was my Birthday, and I was planning to draw, but spent only five minutes on outlining greek sausage in pita and the rest of the day listening to rain, virtual communication, overeating cake and thinking about composition with horses.

Night job: glazed wall and placing letters on it.

Letters attached, half a job done.

Machinery.

Boy's room in a process. Machinery. From sketchbook to the wall.

Chanukah, glass.

Pencil sketches and pretty dinner.

Sketches on the "F" train and raw ideas for the boy's room with machinery.

Dinner, cooked by my daughter with turkey melt wrap and artichoke-spinach palmiers. Little Pig under the table trying to hypnotize me, so I will drop it all so he can eat it.

Little mural in green tones.

Did this mural in the kitchen in 2 days.

Few branches around the kitchen. Underneath would be low bench, covered by the fabric in deep avocado color. Cabinets in quiet ivory. Pleasant.

Sketching and not.

Sketched on the train, on the top with my old stock Blackwing by Eberhard Faber, really wonderful lead. So many possibilities and so little outcome, constant feeling of suffocation. Especially when not doing what planned.
Meanwhile drew branch with flowers on the wall in the marble store.
Also under the marble I drew before on the molding I did a bit textured technique with venetian in greenish sage color.
Feel constant pain for not drawing what I would like to draw in ink with flat brushes.

Marbleizing molding.

Marbleizing molding in small kitchen in house paint, glaze, poly and tints. Took me couple of hours.

Quick sketch for a mural.

First thought for a mural in the dining room. Pencil and watercolor (Bijou) in Delta sketchbook by Stillman & Birn.

Design in the dining room.

Some people really like lilac colors. Design done with metallics glazes and stencil.

Modern design on the wall.

Stencil and silver stem on the glazed wall.  Decorative flowers. Modern design. If it won't be too late it could of been fun. :)

Really tiring June.

Finished mural, which I did in between other projects and rainy moods and being tired. Two layers of poly on the top.

This one on the other wall. Still lots to do, but frame on since yesterday.

Kitchen walls to match design on the cabinets. I mixed 3 glazes on the Bone White base and used woodgraining tool to play with the texture, experimenting technique. I have old woodgraining Italian tool from ages ago, blend a bit with linen technique. Pretty cool result, they wanted modern feeling.

I have no time for myself and feel sick of not drawing. But need to do what I do, because I am not free. Few strokes on drawing of old car, few sentences on Kindle of Ruth Rendell book and that's all.

Added second day to this painting.

After a long break I tried to go back to this landscape. Despite the crazy hot weather, no AC and one lady painting staircase with intoxicating oil poly in the same room, I was able to move it further.
My building has major problem with leak in AC system, so no AC at home either, which is also extremely uncomfortable. I guess it is aftermath of hurricane Sandy. We have heavy machinery digging holes around building (just hope that it won't make building collapse). :(

Underpainting.

One day on this landscape with waterfall so far. Will do trees and wetland and flowers, I guess. Here just defined composition.
Rough underpainting of pretty dramatic scene. The prep work was not good, some places naked compound, cheap primer, so paint is sucking in. Lot of work to do.

More walls.

Wall, done in one shot with pleasant angled movement.
Blue room for a little boy, it has interesting top layer of glistening glaze, shining with little dots of metallic.
Walls with texture, wavy, fabric-like feeling.
Special way of venetian plaster.
Venetian plaster wall with special pearl finish.
Unfinished drawings on my table...

Little restoration.

I  did a little restoration job in Manhattan, matching faux marble in the lobby. Was very interesting to see manhattanites in action, I thought again about a play, written and staged in the lobby, showing people interacting, pieces of their lives unfolding, accidentally witnessed by an artist painting a mural and left unfinished, guessed, questioned. I had this idea years ago while painting a mural (with horses, carriage, boulevard) in one of the lobbies in Manhattan. Would be very interesting decoration for the play, doors opening and closed with sudden light, silhouettes, cars honking...
It was white paint before above the door.
Than I went to Dick Blick Art store and got few watercolor papers and few water soluble pencils and one ink.  Got some delicious treats for my blind cat.  Had street food. Came home very late, call this day a pretty adventurous.

Updated Linen technique room.

Added blue accents and brown piece of furniture. Still lots to do.
