Sample with metallic glazes.
Did few samples, among them this one, with metallic glazes, hopefully I will get to paint oriental motif there, in the show room.
In this studio, not mine, borrowed for a day. Its nice there. Will have to use it for another 4 compositions, as soon as I will prepare it.

Very rainy but not a bad day.
Today, April 30 , was my Birthday, and I was planning to draw, but spent only five minutes on outlining greek sausage in pita and the rest of the day listening to rain, virtual communication, overeating cake and thinking about composition with horses.
Night job: glazed wall and placing letters on it.
Letters attached, half a job done.

Modern design on the wall.
Stencil and silver stem on the glazed wall. Decorative flowers. Modern design. If it won't be too late it could of been fun. :)

More walls.
Wall, done in one shot with pleasant angled movement.
Blue room for a little boy, it has interesting top layer of glistening glaze, shining with little dots of metallic.
Walls with texture, wavy, fabric-like feeling.
Special way of venetian plaster.
Venetian plaster wall with special pearl finish.
Unfinished drawings on my table...

Room.
I did linen technique and metallic plaster in Expresso finish in this room. It looks very nice and cozy. Metallic plaster came from Kentucky, could not find in nearest stores. The key is thicker first layer and small movements, and smooth top layers. Not too much texture. I love plasters.

Wednesday.
I did "old world" in my kitchen, love playing with texture, even pressed for time. Camera didn't get the color right, it is more pale and more coffee in it.
I love this tile for back splash, even don't know how it would work with other colors. They discontinued some of them, only blues left, but I will grab this fleur-de lis in a heart beat. And may be mix with plain yellows. Handmade, I would like to paint it myself, but, no time. One day I will be happy to paint little pastoral scenes with shepherds and sheep, women in dresses, small houses in blue colors on tiles. Beloved Holland tiles.
It was warm outside, even wet snow started to fall, from up here everything seemed so distant and unreal.

Subway sketches on the way to Williamsburg and back.
I don't mind trotting on a Subway as long as I can get a seat and sketch people. My pretty sketchbook got some abuse from splattered ink and few smears of metallic on the jacket from my dirty hands in gloves.
Few touches of color with Pentel Multi-8 pencil. One day I will go and ride on a Subway just for sketching.
Here is the wall, glazed in metallics.
A bit closer. They really like that finish and they usually don't like and don't know anything. So this is sort of champagne color. So I think I deserve a sweet roll with cottage cheese tomorrow for breakfast, for saving the day.

Bowl of soup.
Here is a story about bowl of soup, given to me by one woman, who I find very interesting and would like to keep friendship with, who seems so knowledgeable and deep, I hope not to loose her in my hermit style of life, but know too well that nothing could keep me away from drawing.
It is also a story about a fight between me and paper, strange, smooth, cheap, glossy, useless paper, which I ripped and burn and salted, to make it work for me. Ink and Kuretake change their colors, sunk in it, become unrecognizable and I am not sure that I was right to insist on using it, it would, probably, look richer on watercolor paper.
I like to draw simple things like bread and soup, tea kettle, because this objects carrying warmth and peace, same for everyone, it is about people without depicting people.
Here is the room I did for that woman.
Soft glazing with touch of metallic and small brunches with leaves. It is shimmering.

Painted kitchen.
I had to go crazy bright, to support beautiful paintings they had in the kitchen on both sides. People wanted it bright.
It was fun to go wild with colors, I added touch of poly for durability, but it was hard to move paint.
I felt it was like abstract painting. Music was glaring, too much Chinese food (good one), eating on the porch, last day after a brief rain, my pants got soaking wet from the chair on the porch. It was fast and I miss it already.

Powder room.
My "Potato skins" laying on the scanner unfinished, while I am running around, so while I have a minute before breakfast, I decided to show pretty powder room in Long Island. Light metallic wash over glazing, to support elegant big tiles imitating tufted fabric.
My opinion, moulding needs a tiny touch of antiquing in the deep parts to complete transition from the walls to the ceiling. Almost 2 washy lines on the top and bottom crevices.

Girl's room with 3D flowers.
It was a quick makeover for a girl's room, surprise for her from her parents. Soft glazing on walls, on the table and branches with sculpted from special microwaveable plastic flowers and few leaves. It would be colorful purple-spring-stripey window treatment on both windows.

Glazed wall.
Project was redone because the prep work wasn't done properly and painters had to do skim coat all over. So I did it again, two layers, I like to do without touch ups, it was fun.
Here how it works with the furniture. I stretched it in 3 days so it won't look to easy so I won't get abused.

Wall, glazing.
Focal point of the room. Glazed panels.
Rest of the walls would be muted flat paint ochre sort of color. Designer keep changing colors, I never met him, he asked for my card, as well as doorman and super. I love to play with textures.

Glazing sort of fabric looking.
Very cozy looking.
Combination of flat paint and glazing.
Took me a while to mix the color, on photos it looks more red than wine. I used glaze extender, pricey but it worth it. No wonder I loved chemistry. I like when people happy. A lot of positive energy.

Glazing in the kitchen.
I did glazing in the kitchen for my friends. I was really happy to do something for my friends who were so kind to me over years. Came home at 130 in the morning. It was fun to eat sandwiches sitting on the step and chatting in unfinished house.
