Really, Zoe? Did you live there? I use to go there often when my daughter was little. I forgot how it feels, how beautiful birds are. This store on Coney Island Ave closed, where best knishes were sold. But I may not know all the places.
Yea, I remember the sign and we use to buy it when we lived on Coney Island Ave, near the water. I remember the sign changed I believe in 2004, I checked online, it said "After about 69 years at the same spot at the corner of Brighton Beach Avenue and Coney Island Avenue Mrs. Stahl's Knishes.... gone".
Nostalgia hit me with these photos.
ReplyDeleteI want a knish. :)

ReplyDeleteI haven't been too Brighten in so long I can't even remember when, but I think I knew that Stahl's closed. I believe it was a family business.
ReplyDeleteI wish I had taken photographs or made drawings of the area-just last night I tried to make a few line drawings and memories came flooding back.
