Inna's photo of Brooklyn.

Snapped on Iphone. Somewhere on Ave Y in Brooklyn. Beautiful mood. Love it.  I can recognize my favorite sepia tones here, near the burning sun.

City motif.

Spending some time in the City and managed not to get desirable bottle of ink, so used different leftovers and felt a bit sad. Thought what would I drew if it would be my last day? Sadly knew again this is not what I would want to draw. This is not what I would want to do. We live like it is eternity in front of us and we will have time to say, to do, to give what is really matters. Will we?

Walk in the Central Park in a few photos.

I like all that earthy colors.
And this beautiful sienna. Gotta be a genius to create such a palette.
Wonderful view.
I snapped those photos on my phone.

Feb 19 on Subway.

Sketched few people on the train on Sunday. Wanted to get to museum to see 9 Renoirs and few interesting drawings, but the line of people was so long and we were dressed so light that we decide to pass and took amazing stroll through the Central Park, enjoying beautiful patches of nature in the heart of the City. End up eating Shake Shack on the bench Uptown, bathing in the sun and laughing at the New York dogs passing by.
This little ball pen is from the Muji store in Times Square. I wanted to get calligraphy pen, but they didn't have it. I got little sketchbook for $4.50 with yellowish thin paper for simple pencil sketches, so I  won't feel bad for wasting Moleskine pages.

Saturday morning.

Playing with 2 inks and Kuretake pens. Dirty washes. Really like little Zig Clean Color Real Brush. Such wonderful tip of the brush. Did with it few touches on leaves on the cup. Fancy breakfast near computer. Mini tarts staffed with salads, easy treat, good looking.

Messy page.

Messy page from my moleskine. I like to drag my sketchbook everywhere in case I may see something interesting or write down some useful info. So here few things I want to investigate like black African soap and Mexican Acerola cherries, advantages of Holy basil and reminder to bring two ID's for signing up for the pool. On the top few sketches of people I met. Just life. When buying mayo on sale in the supermarket I noticed 2 nice places for sketching, so hoping for good weather and peace of mind.

Interesting idea about Michelangelo and few fun links to appreciate.

Anatomical approach in Michelangelo's paintings.

Found this article online. Could it be truth?

Searching for ink.

Helpful tool.

Testing inks by Jamie Williams Grossman.

Will have fun exploring and comparing our experiments.

Art is fun.

Found this site, things to check out.

I have this little program, called ShoveBox, it is sitting on the ToolBar and whenever I am in a rush and  want to save site I found or interesting recipe or any info I would like to check out later, I shove it there in a little note and can look at it when I have time. It is sort of like Stickies but more comfortable and saves space.  Almost like I did here today since I can't sleep.

Dunkin Donuts coffee.

Dunkin Donuts coffee really helps when you burned by brainstorming about mural's composition, color range, researches, with very few hours of sleep every night, unable to decide whether you should make a pea soup for tonight and finish sketch in Sepia or grab a takeout and watch another episode of "Desperate Housewives".  Fellini likes to check what's in the bag hoping for fried chicken, since he can't smell and his vision is poor, he takes long time to inquire.
I used Sepia and 2 Kuretake brush pens on old paper.

Indian sweets.

One of the evenings was highlighted by spending time together and eating Indian food. We got sweets too, I didn't remember the names, but it was delicious and had interesting sauces. I used dishes with printed Toulouse Lautrec drawings, so vibrant colors and unusual taste created wonderful atmosphere.
I used Sepia ink and Kuretake brush pens. I was so busy last week, could not finish this drawing, so kept adding color in small portions and almost burned finished drawing, the last second I poured water on it. That was funny. This paper doesn't work well with fire.

Sketch in Eastchester, NY.

Quick pencil sketch in Eastchester  while waiting in the car. I think it is time to give up my little Palomino Blackwing 602 armed with point protector and rubber sleeve, it is worn out close to 3 inches and falling under my palm. Still,  I like when pencil is a bit worked up, seems, has more energy and personality. I start cheating on this little one with new Palomino Blackwing 602 at home, using it here-there for small tasks, now it should go into my orange pencil case, to be taken on trips.

ArtDeco mural in a process.

Central piece, still a lot to do, but composition and masses of color is already there.
On the other wall of the lobby, it goes around. I think today I deserve sushi.

While...

While running around and stressing about being unable to finish drawing with Indian sweets,  I am posting  a picture of my reflection I snapped on my phone. It shows my sketch enlarged on the wall and my shadow with unruly hear. I used again this amazing pen-chalk from JetPens, called dustless.
BTW I found out from a friend's text that I was featured in Sheepshead Bites today :-).

Oh Barcelona Barcelona "me'odi" not "peratich" on musical instruments lalala... Oh Barcelona Barcelona on stringed instruments, With a guitar and mandolin. The splendor of your soil captured my heart Oh Barcelona! To you I brought the best of my song accept this present and remember the echo of my voice like a souvernir of love lalalala.

Don't reject me in my old age - Michel Cohen, Psalm 71:9:
Don't reject me in my old age. Don't forsake me when my strength fails.

Dress.

Brooklyn, Sheepshead bay. It was striking and unexpected to see that vulnerable feminine dress on the winter street. I used ink and few Kuretake brush pens. Scanner didn't pick up variety of blue.

Ordinary day.

Ordinary day in Sepia ink,  few Kuretake brushes and lots of water.
